The "Dr. Yun MOU" Outstanding Young Scholar Award, established by the Taiwan Nanomedicine Society, aims to promote prospective fundamental and applied research among young members, thereby enhancing the impact and global recognition of nanomedicine research originating from Taiwan. In principle, this award selects only one recipient each year, thus making it a highly prestigious honor. We are delighted to announce that Dr. Wei Chen, an assistant professor at our center, has been selected as the recipient of the 2024 "Dr. Yun MOU" Outstanding Young Scholar Award. He will be recognized and invited to deliver a speech at the "Award Ceremony & Award Honor Speech", which will take place during the international conference organized by the Taiwan Nanomedicine Society on June 28. This achievement not only recognizes Dr. Chen's contributions but also underscores his potential to further advance nanomedicine research in Taiwan and beyond.
Dr. Wei Chen's research mainly focus on nanomedicine, drug delivery, RNA nanotechnology, cell engineering, innovative biomaterials, and biomedical engineering. His work includes the application of these technologies and strategies in the treatment of cancer, cardiovascular diseases, and inflammatory diseases, as well as in immune modulation and immunotherapy, including cell and gene therapy. Dr. Chen employs interdisciplinary strategies to address current medical challenges in disease treatment. Dr. Chen's research has been published in several prestigious journals such as Nature Nanotechnology, Nature Reviews Cardiology, Nature Communications, Science Advances, J. Am. Chem. Soc. (JACS), Angew. Chem. Int. Ed., Chemical Reviews, ACS Nano, Acc. Chem. Res., Matter, Advanced Science, and etc. Many of these papers have been selected as Front Cover Papers and rated as ESI Top 1% Highly Cited Papers. Dr. Chen's research is highly prospective and holds substantial application potential, which has earned him recognition from the Taiwan Nanomedicine Society and its academic committee. As a result, he has been awarded the 2024 "Dr. Yun MOU" Outstanding Young Scholar Award.
The Taiwan Nanomedicine Society is dedicated to facilitating collaboration and knowledge exchange among researchers and professionals in nanomedicine research, both within Taiwan and internationally. The society's primary goals include amplifying the impact and significance of nanomedicine research, as well as advancing industrial technologies within this field.
