Dr. Kuo-I Lin was honored with The Chiung-Lin Chen Memorial Award for Translational Medicine. This award, established through generous donations from the Chiung-Lin Chen family, aims to foster innovative research in translational medicine and recognize exceptional domestic scholars. The selection process, conducted annually by The Taiwan Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology and The Chinese Society of Cell and Molecular Biology, contributes to elevating the level and international recognition of innovative translational medicine research in Taiwan.

Dr. Kuo-I Lin and her team are devoted to studying the regulatory mechanisms, including transcriptional and post-translational modifications, involved in the B cell development and activation as well as the plasma cell differentiation. Her team also employs the single-B cell screening platform to isolate monoclonal antibodies specific for diseases, aiming to understand the relevance of the antibodies in the progression of or the protection from diseases. The research results from Dr. Lin’s team not only reveal the underlying mechanisms of how plasma cells are produced and maintained in our body, but also provide further insight into the effective production of antibodies in humoral immunity in immune responses.
